This is a very belated report of the Al-Bassel Fair for Invention and Innovation in Damascus. The information on the Syrian TV & Radio website (here) reported in November 2015:
"Activities of the 7th edition of al-Bassel Fair for Invention and Innovation were launched Damascus on Sunday.
The fair, which will be held at the Patent Center in Barzeh area, will see the participation of 360 inventors, including patent owners and school students.
Inventors from Egypt and Iraq will take part in the fair, which will run through next Thursday.
Coinciding with the fair, the 2nd National Contest of Invention and Innovation will be held, with this year’s edition focusing on reconstruction requirements.
Three tracked will be featured, with the first one covering 24 inventions related to prosthetic limbs and techniques helpful to people injured in terrorist attacks.
The second track will include 56 inventions focusing on electricity generation from renewable energy resources.
15 inventions related to debris recycling will be showcased under the third track.
The fair enjoys international support with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations, awarding 4 medals for the winners."
