An interesting piece in the June 2015 Bulletin of good friends Saba & Co entitled "IRAN & SYRIA: LICENCE TO PROTECT YOUR IPR" dealing with whether payments to obtain intellectual property rights can be made to Syria or Iran. Fortunately, it appears they can.
